Gloria Ann Best Kept Secret - Newark

I ordered from Gloria Ann's yesterday and got A whiting fish dinner. The expected delivery time was around 50 to 70 minutes. At that 70 minute mark I received a call about my food being outside and that the driver had been waiting for me to open the door. Considering I lived in a building with a doorman I was extremely confused. The restaurant worker continues to yell at me saying how I have the wrong number listed and the wrong address. Me being totally confused and now insulted went down stairs to see if the driver was there. Long story short the worker called me by accident. The driver apologized for his mistake. When I opened my order i was displeased by everything. The fish was not fresh and i could tell it was frozen before they cooked it ... the collard greens were cold and salty. The yams are lack luster and the corn was over cooked. Won't ever order from here again

Worst experience... possibly the most petty interaction I 've ever had with a business owner. We previously enjoyed the food here, so my spouse ordered online for me to appease my very pregnant appetite. ~Although happy to have some time off my feet without having to cook, after 2 hours of waiting, and 2 calls where he was advised the driver should be here he cancelled the order through the app. The owner called... yelling and screaming at me it is now WELL after 10 pm for the order being cancelled, stating the driver was outside... He is not, we 've been pacing and looking out the door. I offered to pay in cash if the driver was actually close, MULTIPLE TIMES ~but he proceeded to scream at my very pregnant self about how he 'd rather the food go to waste ? until my spouse picked up the phone and ended the call. We are now not only 2 hours delayed on dinner, but also unnecessarily grossly aggravated. NEVER again. As I type this, I am making our own extraordinarily delicious home cooked yams, cabbage and wings. Always feed your family things prepared with love. Petty puts that in question, and who knows what happens on the back end over there with such a poor level of professionalism.

I absolutely the smothered fried and baked chicken and Turkey wings, fried cabbage, sauteed spinach, baked potatoes, honey bbq everything, shrimp, fish, empanadas, oxtails, banana pudding, cheesecake, collard greens, yams, string beans, shrimp and chicken fried rice, baked spaghetti, fish, burgers. You have to try the fried lobster tails and the surf and turf with lettuce tomatoes and Russian dressing!!! I love the meatloaf, grilled chicken breasts and steaks are some of the best in town. The cakes are so moist and delicious and yes Indeed I'm going to eat my corn bread and yours too if I can!

I wish I could give no stars. The restaurant owner is very very nasty. And I mean beyond disrespect to me. He refused to have my food delivered. Based off of the reviews maybe it was a blessing I didnt have the food.

Ordered Fish Fries It Was Disgusting.The Whiting Tasted Like The Microwaveable Fish You Get In The Freezer Section The Fries Were Soggy . I Also Got Cornbread That Tasted Just Like The Plastic Wrap It Was Wrapped In . The Only Good Thing About This Meal Was The Bottled Soda . Wasted $15 . 2 Stars Because Delivery Driver Was Nice .
