Saracens Head - Newark and Sherwood

I recently had lunch with friends at Oak and was highly impressed by the food and new menu. Despite being quite empty when we arrived, the restaurant quickly filled up and became busy, even on a weekday. The service was excellent and I enjoyed a delicious salad at a reasonable price. The history and decor of the restaurant were also very appealing to me, although I understand that it may not be to everyone's taste. Overall, a great experience that I would highly recommend.

I am delighted to support the new franchisee who has recently taken over this restaurant, bar, and function rooms. My two friends and I enjoyed a drink at the bar and a two-course dinner, which was reasonably priced. The service, food, and presentation were all excellent. This hotel was in need of a change, and it is fantastic to see it starting off on the right foot under the new management. The young franchisee shared his ambitions of providing high-quality yet affordable dining options that will be regularly updated, including occasional tasting menus and tapas nights. We tried a delicious steak, a large portion of haddock and fries, a unique and tasty carrot bhaji burger, and chocolate brownies with ice cream. We were also treated to a delightful amuse-bouche of pea and wild garlic.

We stopped by this charming restaurant and enjoyed one of the most delicious fish and chip meals we have ever had. Special commendations to the lone bartender (cheerful and attentive) and the chef who both did a fantastic job holding down the fort despite being short-staffed. 5 stars!

Enjoyed decent lunch with coffee and tea, They have a full bar if you want something stronger. Nice comportable lounge to enjoy your lunch if you want a change from the bar.
