Bidrage med feedbackMy favorite ramen! It's on the pricer side but the flavor is so good. I appreciate the steaming hot broth every time I order. Excellent quality and consistency.
Came across Gorin Ramen on our walk on 14th St and notice their sign Try Out Signature Ramen the Soy Sauce Kitakata. We saw the sign ordered their Kitakata Ramen made with dashi chicken shoyu broth, wavy flat noodles, topped with Abrui pork chashu, onion, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The flavorful Abrui Pork was tender but the real star of the show was the Dashi Chicken Shoyu Broth. A savory and slightly sweet broth that has a soy sauce infused flavor. We also ordered their Fried Gyoza as an appetizer. they were like little pockets of deliciousness. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The pork filling is just satisfyingly flavorful. Overall, and great place to eat!
I got the spicy miso and tried the shoyu ramen and the spicy was amazing and def worth another trip. The other was much milder in flavor but I enjoy when flavor punches me in the mouth. Noodle texture was chewy and fresh so it didn’t feel cheaply made at all and wonderful soup. I’d skip the bean Sprouts though because it doesn’t add anything good to the experience of the soup. Final verdict : Def coming back
Delicious Ramen that comes fast to your table. I maybe waited max 5 minutes for my meal. Also, I asked for spicy and they delivered. The space is not pretentious and not blasting music. You order and pay by your phone which I really like. No waiting for a waiter to take an order, or to deliver the check when you're done. You can eat and leave. I will definitely be back.
3/5 Gorin Ramen inside Gotham Market between West 44th and 45th Street. (34th Bowl out of 100) Soy Sauce Kitakata Ramen $20. Broth: 1/5. Salty and watery. Bland. Chashu: 3/5. Five pieces were provided in the bowl, in which one broke in half. The fat melts, the meat is tender, and it has an incredible charred. No glaze. However, it's dried unless dipped into the broth. The second piece, which was leaner, had a tougher chew, even when dipped into the broth. The third piece, the edge, was very caramelized on the outside of the chashu, also very salty from the salt rub. While this has been the most quantity of chashu given in a bowl, it seems different parts taste differently. Noodles: 5/5. Thick wavy ramen. My preference. Great bounce and chew. Was still firm after being submerged after the broth for 19 minutes. Side note(s): There was no egg in the ramen. Appetizers: Sweet Chili Karaage: 2/5. $11. I got 5pcs, not the 6pcs as advertised. The pieces are gigantic. The inside is dry. Even the sweet and spicy glaze is simply coating it and didn't give the inside more flavor. Aburi Pork Bun: 2/5. $6. The bun was dry and at room temperature. The meat itself was really good and fatty, dripping out oil when you bite into it. Total: $40.29
