Bidrage med feedbackHigh end food in a relaxed and cozy environment. Very cool scene. Had a very nice date.
In its prior avatars as, first Abbotella and then Da Tommy's, this was a superior restaurant, with an excellent, innovative menu and a laid-back, friendly vibe. Now, all that is changed. The whole ambiance is snooty, the menu not as interesting, the prices too high and the portions rather smaller. Our appetizer was good. One of our entrees was excellent but the other was fishy and stingy. Too bad. We will not be back.
Real italian restaurant in NYC! The food was amazing, high quality of the service and great cocktail. I strongly suggest to visit TFOR and enjoy the Italian plates and the hospitality of the owner and his staff. I will come back for sure! Good job!
Pretty place. Tiny tables. 24 square put together in 4 long rows. They move tables a few inches apart for 2s, 4s, 6s or 8s. Crazy. Only 12 diners on Saturday nite. Pasta Amatriciana was excellent. Their signature pasta, with pistachios and a heads on prawn, (1 shrimp no bigger than 16-20 size was not good. No one asked how anything was. After waiting 20 minutes for a second glass of wine we cancelled and asked for a check. Owner was more interested in talking to hostess than checking what was going on. Too bad, we were hoping for a new good local place.
Amazingly great quality ingredients: you can be sure the raw fish and seafood will not disappoint. Pasta cooked just right and desserts to die for (leave some space for the cannoli). Cozy place, you feel like you are part of the family, especially if you sit at the bar. Good environment to chat with a friend or a date, but not if they have live music, then you best pay attention to the music and chat later.
