Gallow Green - New York

That is absolutely my favorite place, feels like a modern heart of the ring scene

A $25 hamburger was the size of a SLIDER! Overcooked (even though specifically said 'want it medium rare, not well done ' ; it was the size of a slider! the $47 charcuterie cheese board was a small portion for the price. Steak was over-peppered. Limited menu. Waitress did her best. Had a much better time during summer when outdoors. Drinks were good but pricey at 18 a pop; fun vibe. But the money would have been better spent at a top New York steak house.

The staff worked hard to make the evening successful. We had dinner reservations at 6 PM, they had a private event in the restaurant starting at 730 PM. We therefore had to eat outside in a tent. Unfortunately there was little heat and the door on the tent would not zip closed as the zipper was broken. The staff brought us blankets and we all did the best we could to make the meal work. Thank you for the efforts.

We really enjoyed our time at Gallow Green. The service was great. Our waitress was so kind and amazing. The drink she recommended for me was really really good! The ambiance was very nice. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars for overall was because the food was not really the best for the price. The steak was good, but the chicken schnitzel was a bit dry and tough. If I was to come back I would like to try the crepes instead (as recommended by our waitress). I would still recommend this restaurant to a friend because the ambiance is nice, the employees are very friendly, and the drinks were great!

Food portions were generous but preparation was mediocre. Service was begrudging.
