Hi Sushi - New Westminster

It pains me to say this, especially since we live very close by and used to love it, but we will no longer eat here.They seem to be under new management.. the food used to be excellent, but now it is severely lacking. The last several times, we've had to ask for more sauces (e.g., tempura, gyoza and also the type drizzled over a large, special roll, as well as wasabi and ginger.The menus are in a deplorable state - ratty and falling apart.The nigiri combo is gone now, so that, to get what used to be in the combo is now ridiculously cost-prohibitive! The sushi seems much too salty now, too.I am heartbroken about the demise of this once great culinary experience. RIP, Hi Sushi...

Stopped by for quick take-out the other evening, had the OMG roll as recommended by other reviewers, as well as a Dynamite Roll. Both were fresh and delicious - the OMG roll was a big surprise and nearly big enough as a meal on it's own. Definitely something different and interesting, will look forward to coming back again soon and trying something else. The dynamite roll was ok, nothing spectacular, but not disappointing in any way either.

I have eaten here a few times now and I can honestly say it is always great. The service is always good and friendly and the specialty rolls are all fantastic.My personal favs' are the Mango Roll the Spicy Salmons roll and the deep fried California roll.

Situated on a forgettable piece of Carnarvon Street, Hi Sushi Doesn't get as much recognition as it deserves. It has a loyal local clientele but really ought to be drawing bigger crowds. Excellent agedashi tofu and octopus balls as appetisers. Origiginal and fun rolls. But, most importantly, great nigiri sushi and sashimi. It's varied and innovative menu provides new options for many visits. Great service.

This place is sushi heaven.... the spring rolls to the teriyaki don.. all the way till the sushi is just umami for your taste buds... the service is fast and the ambience is peaceful and perfect for friends/ couples.
