Ettlins Cafe - New Prague

Make sure you call before coming. We drove a half hour because we wanted the Harry Potter drinks and saw it was open online. Showed up just to be told they closed early for a party. Very disappointing…

Our first time coming here. Myself and my grown daughters made a day of coming this way for bacon and side pork from Montgomery. Call us simple people, but this is a fun day trip coming from Chaska and Waconia! We saw your restaurant on our way out, and knew we had to stop on the way back. We were not disappointed!! Excellent, large portions, we couldn't decide. So we shared French toast, Scotch eggs, mushroom and Swiss burger, Cole slaw, fried dumplings, cheese curds, Vomacka, coffee and peach tea!! I give this place an 11+ on a 1-10 scale.

Very cute little treasure in New Prague! Reminds me of visiting the mom and pop cafe's I used to go to as a kid. Friendly staff! Great food and drink and they make amazing specialty coffee! Would definitely recommend!

I had not had a meal at Ettlin's for a long time. I was in the area and stopped for breakfast. Was so happy to find that the friendly service and great food were still the normal.

We came in Sunday morning for breakfast. We were seated quickly and told they were a bit behind so service may take a few minutes. It was 20 minutes before we even saw our waitress, she took our drink and food order, it was another 30 minutes until our food came. The breakfast sausage was hotdogs. When I asked what kind of sausage it was, the waitress couldn 't answer that question and had the owner come out. He stated that it was breakfast sausage and they switched their supplier 3 years ago. I moved to Minnesota a year and a half ago. I 've eaten here 4 times previously. This was not the same breakfast sausage as any other time I 've been here. Why lie about it man? Why tell us that you changed 3 years ago, and I 'm only the second person to ever say anything about it? I was there 3 months ago and it was a different sausage. So long story short, we paid 42 dollars for breakfast, for 2 people, that more than half of it was uneaten and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes from arrival to departure. Save your money and your time, go somewhere else where the owner doesn 't lie to your face and become defensive when you ask what kind of sausage you 're being served.
