Bidrage med feedbackWow is everything I can say. this is an old railway station and I love the architecture of the building. not to mention the excellent Italian cuisine. we really enjoyed everything about this place. we started with caprese. I had fatuccine, that was creamy and an incredible recipe. we had a napoleon for the desert that was out of sight. I always try to have a starter and dessert, just to get a real feeling for a place. this was worth getting our GPS course to our destination. if they are on the way to the catskill region, that is a must stop!
Not impressed, we finished our appetizers before the first drinks were even served. The menu was very limited and not what was listed on the internet site. Service was very odd, food was not up to par for New Paltz. Felt like we were rushed the entire short meal. To be honest, I have lived in the area most of my life and have never been here until tonight and probably will not go back.
I should have left after seeing the paper placemats and spelling errors throughout the menu. Well, I found several fruit flies in my martini and the pasta sauce was watery and under seasoned. I also saw into the kitchen at one point and saw them preparing the cheap pasta you find for $1 at tops meanwhile my dish was $26. A poor excuse for “fine-dining”.
Awesome place for great Italian food. They also have a bar area.
I was looking for a quiet place to have a satisfying dinner, and boy did I find it!! La Stazione is the place to be on a Monday night when everything else is closed in your town. It started with a warm greeting from the host and since I was dining alone I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender made me the best vodka martini, followed by a delicious steamed clam appetizer, cooked to perfection. For my entree I had the carbonara pasta which is homemade, complemented by a full body red wine. The atmosphere was very welcoming with highly attentive staff. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other enticing food this restaurant has to offer!
