Seafood Dock At The French Market

Get to this place early because a queue forms very quickly and there's a reason why. Reasonably priced, tasty seafood from oysters to crawfish. It's in the French market so don't order till you have found a seat (and those are hard to come by around lunch time). It's a free for all for tables. Only order once you've gotten a table as their platters are large and come out hot. We had the crawfish boil and the crab legs. 2lbs of the most delicious crawfish and crab legs. All for less than $50. We got to the French Market around 11am, got a table and were eating by 11.15. So it was more brunch than lunch! Walked around the market and then back to the French quarter by way of Cafe Du Monde by which time the morning crowds there had died down and we walked in and got a seat immediately!

Truly one of my worst dining experiences, and I am usually very patient.We waited over 45 min for a seafood quesadilla, a shrimp boat, and fried pickles. We were told it would be about 10 min. But others waiting told us it would be longer. After watching two orders that were placed after ours get filled, I asked about our order. At this point we had waited 30 min. I watched her fumble through the tickets, and she finally dug it out of a pile of tickets in a bucket. They had lost our order, and there was no apology offered.The lady taking orders was back and forth from the back to the front. There were several people coming and going from the back, but there appeared to be only one person preparing food.After another 15 min the seafood quesadilla was given to us. Parts of it were too charred to be eaten, and it was cold. They ran out of bread, so when the shrimp boat was given to us about 10 15 minutes later, there were about 6 small shrimp sitting on a bed of fries. The fried pickles came out at the same time limp and soggy.We wasted our money on the worst customer service and mediocre food. Steer clear!

Try the crawfish pie!! Great place for lunch! We found this place off of youtube and it didnt disappoint!
