Fantastic all around. Long line for lunch but had a great chat with the oyster shucker for a nice local touch while waiting. All staff friendly and welcoming. Special praise for him and the entire kitchen staff especially the woman charbroiling the oysters in the back, thru the kitchen next to the bathrooms. Be sure to say hi to her and tip her too. They all work hard!! Waitress excellent as well. No frills here, just great food. Oysters were large, flavorful and all fried items are gluten-free, which is rare. Oyster stew is simple, classic and the best I've had. Go with a positive attitude and meet some friendly locals. If you want frills, stay in the FQ and pay a lot more but the seafood won't be as fresh or as good. This place is a must!! Will have to try some italian next time, maybe...cheers!!

Best gumbo I ever ate. Cash only. Great wait staff and fresh oysters and other food also. Worth it to go to uptown and eat with locals

I Loved the fact it has been here since 1905. The soft shelled crab as well as all their fried seafood is gluten free. How fantastic is that? It's absolutely delicious too. Thank you for having such wonderful staff and great food and traditions. That is what New Orleans is all about. Xoxo

They have a varied menu, but you go there for the oysters. Raw, fried (in an oyster loaf sandwich), or especially chargrilled, these are some of the best around. They've been doing this for nearly a hundred years they've got it right.

Excellent raw, excellent grilled, excellent on fresh baked pan bread ... outstanding fresh catfish. Happy campers, thanks
