Visited on a week at night from the city over the winter break. it was not overcrowded and we could keep a very convenient distance from other parties. eating was absolutely delicious and very cheap. we didn't drink, but there was a very big choice. Should I ever return to new haven, I would definitely go back here!

Three leaves scratch this small dipping bar, where I actually did not want to be surrounded by sophisticated bingetrinkern, but I also don't want any hipster flippings and wood on the walls. Dark and cold, but not dingy, this bar is perfect for sloppy talks, a bit pool, and several rounds of pickles prepared for different ways. beer prices are quite standard, and eating is on the more expensive side, but they get what they pay. the regular cheeseburger was excellently cooked and tasteful, and the picked pommes in the side were delicious, but quite strong for as many as they give them. the fried pies ( served as chopped speere) are my second favorit in new haven, and the pie speer served with my burger rounded the acid trinity. the people who worked behind the beer and in the kitchen were also extra nice to follow us as we moved to different sittings twice. Finally, despite its sturdy optics, they have put a lot of good looking vegan and vegetarian options with the actual care in the recipe, and not a token veggie pattie to quiet vegans who stumble into the bar with friends.
