What a gem stayed here in the disabled room with my mum everything was so perfect thank you Staff from reception team to bar and restaurant staff so friendly we didn’t feel like a customer we were made to feel like old friends thank you wish I would have taken names to personally thank you all but your bosses should be proud of you all Rooms: Tea trays in room ,great hairdryer , toiletries , tv , easy chairs and lots more Nearby activities: Steam train walks shops history Walkability: So near to the watercress line and is in the high street Food drinks: Fantastic choice of good quality food and drinks

Just stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms are quite large and comfortable and have an enormous shower in the bathroom. The hotel is dog friendly and all the staff were friendly and accommodating. All the food we had was excellent and the menu catered for all tastes. We will return! Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5

I came here with a friend as we were staying in the area and saw this place had good reviews. Not quite sure where these good reviews came from... Maybe an alternate reality to the one we were greeted with. The waitress whom I'm assuming was also the manager, greeted us with all the friendliness of someone working at a city centre macdonalds at closing hour, who were having to serve endless **** heads. We were shown to our table. Initially we thought someone else would take over serving us, but to our dismay, smiley returned to take our drinks order and seemed disgruntled that we hadn't yet decided what we wanted to drink. We waited with baited breath for her return to take our food order, hoping that we might this time be able to spark some rapport and inject some atmosphere in to her soul. To no avail. At one point I feared for my life, when I second guessed between choosing what I wanted. For someone that was in a rush, the kitchen didn't match her ambition for haste. What felt like a week passed, when finally our food arrived. Fish and chips and a burger. Both equally as terrible as smileys personality. Honestly, I can't remember going out for food somewhere, where I felt like I needed therapy afterwards. To add to the whole debacle, our server who seemed to be the manager, seemed to treat her staff with the same disdain as she treated us. Possibly one of the most miserable pieces of work I've come across. Shan't be visiting again, what a horrible evening.
