Bidrage med feedbackCocky Guides is my business offering group travel for blind and low vision individuals throughout Australia. On Magnetic Island, we had a group of blind, low vision, and deafblind travelers, accompanied by a service dog. We had a wonderful day with Ranger Matt and the animals at Bungalow Bay. The owner and crew took the time to understand our needs and made necessary adjustments to ensure a fun, inclusive, and accessible experience for our group. We're excited for our next visit with them!
The breakfast at this restaurant is excellent. It is a very educational experience and a must-visit for anyone in the area.
We reluctantly must give this activity a negative review as the experience has significantly declined since our last visit. A year ago, one of the highlights of the breakfast was the opportunity for guests to hold lizards, snakes, and crocodiles. However, this is no longer offered. Instead, guests can now only pet a koala for an additional fee of $25 on top of the $42 breakfast cost. The website is misleading as it still shows pictures of guests interacting with reptiles. Another former highlight, the honeycomb, has also been removed from the experience. The overall quality of the food has also decreased. We no longer recommend this experience and believe it is overpriced. For a more enjoyable experience, we suggest visiting the Billabong Sanctuary in Townsville, especially if you are with children.
The breakfast buffet was yampf, a varied spread. from müsli to hot speck and eiermuffins. there was no limit on how much food you could take. we first got a glass of breakfast juice and met some of the reptiles here. if desired. you can pat/hold some of them. we were all in the position to pat / get a photo with a rettungskoala, and for an additional $18 you can cuddle with the koala. friendly and competent staff. would come for children and adults alike
What an experience!! greeted by native Australian animals including Koala’s, crocodiles, lizards and snakes. The food was freshly cooked in their unique purpose built outdoor setting amongst native trees just beautiful. The delicious Aussie Bush Tucker consisted of local mackeral infused with lemon myrtle,...Pancakes served with native Rosella jam, Bacon and eggs, Beef sausages with bush tomato chutney, local fruits, Native honeycomb and so on. The staff catered for those with allergies and had a wealth of knowledge about the animals. As a family we absolutely loved it, and coming back again. A must do while on the Island, however book.
