Bidrage med feedbackHusband and grandson enjoyed fishing from the Pier. Beautiful view and they loved seeing Sea turtles and Dolphins.
I loved searching out this area for all the piers on this side of destin! I really enjoyed walking the pier and talking to local fisherman. It is definitely hit or miss, as far as what fishermen are catching... But if you are patient, chances are, you will see a dolphin or maybe even a shark. It cost only a dollar, I believe, to walk this pier. You go inside the local restaurant and the bait and tackle shop to purchase a pass. The great thing is that the pass last all day. There is a restaurant right next to the pier, so if you were looking for a place to grab some grub after a long walk on the pier, you have that option. This pier goes out pretty far into the ocean. I do feel like this side of the ocean is a little bit more rough compared to the pier on Okaloosa Island. I did not see as large as fish as I did in Okaloosa, but walking this pier was still an adventure and enjoyable. If you are headed from Destin to Pensacola, check out Navarre Beach. They have great public restrooms, as well as a maintained public entryway to the beach. You can also take the small road off the main highway (you catch it right next to the Navarre pier) to travel to Pensacola. This route takes you through the protected area of the national park in between Navarre and Pensacola. It is a very scenic drive!
Absolutely AMAZING beach! Sand so soft it is almost like flour, beaches are daily remote and empty compared to other public beaches, water is outstanding, calm, and warm, went for a week during a family vacation and I don't think I've relaxed as much in so long, 10/10 recommend
Most people come to this Beach Park to see the Navarre Pier. However, it also has Beach access, several picnic areas, covered shelters, showers, toilets life guards on the beach in the summer. The parking lot is YUGE so I actually like to roller blade here bc it opens early it has spectacular views on both sides of the Bay the ocean. Spring Hours (Generally Mar. Apr. : 5 a.m. 8 p.m. Summer Hours (Generally May Oct. : 5 a.m. 10 p.m. Winter Hours (Generally Nov. Feb. : Sunrise to Sunset I'm pretty sure the Navarre Pier is the longest one in the US. You can take some good selfies pics out at the end. It's also one of the prime spots for pier fishing it's 1,545 feet long towering 30 feet above the water. It has a privately owned bait and tackle shop that gives tourist the opportunity to rent fishing poles fish. There is also food for purchase at the outdoor restaurant located right on the pier. Its free for Veterans, $1 $7 for everyone else. If you find yourself in the area, check out the Navarre Pier! Also, a short walk across the street, you will find Juana Pagodas Sailors Grill. A huge family friendly place with a sand bar that has volleyball on a small private beach, awesome drinks amazing food, all right on the water on the bay side. All in walking distance. Highly recommend.
The longest pier in the gulf and it's right here in Navarre. Costs $1 to walk it and kids under 4 are free (you pay inside the gift shop). Very well maintained and lots of folks fishing and we were able to see dolphins, a sea turtle and plenty of fish. Great place to see the sunrise or sunset. Plenty of free parking and there is also a place to nosh and get some drinks.
