Mayeaux’s Nakatosh Deli Pub

My daughter and I decided to walk down to this little restaurant tonight to get a bite to eat after driving into town for a college tour. I am normally a pretty easy going go with the flow type of person. We walked in and were immediately told that the only seats that were available were the 2 window seats because the rest were reserved…even though the website says they don’t take reservations. That was fine. We sat, smiling, waiting for menus. After over 5 minutes, I finally got up to ask the girl at the counter who was being entertained by a group of young men if we were supposed to order at the counter. She quickly said no ma’am and brought some menus and took our drink order. My daughter and I were still smiling and happy. We ordered 2 sandwiches a few minutes later. We sat and talked and waited for the food to arrive. After about 35 minutes and no server communication or anything and the restaurant is empty except for myself and my daughter and 2 people waiting on takeout at the bar so I figured it shouldn’t be taking that long so I ask how much longer…that’s when things took a turn. This girl then informs me after we’ve been waiting all this time that the tables that were “reserved” called their order in ahead of time so they had to make that first. Now…these tables are empty and we are sitting waiting in the restaurant and they chose to not care whether we got served in a timely manner. At that point, I got aggravated so we left. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

We dropped in late to Nakatosh Deli and pub to grab a muffuletta for dinner. The venue is small with limited dining and bar space.We ordered our Muffaletta's and a couple of Yuenglings. They did not have Yuengling on tap, but they did serve frosted mugs. The Muffuletta's were excellent. They came with a bag of chips. I told Jan that this is a better muffuletta than the ones we had at Central Grocery in NOLA last spring.The restaurant was not busy. There was one other group dining. We were happy diners. Just a good sandwich with good service. The prices were moderate.

It was great service, good food, and it was fast being that it was busy.Kid-friendliness: The people were nice to the kids.

Great service. Food was also very good. It was the best little place on the river to get some food and a drink.

Food here was good. Atmosphere was great and Service was good. Small place but right on the main road. Window view was nice.
