Cleo - Nassau

We had a fantastic time in cleo. our server was amazing and the ambiente was perfect. it wasn't a loud restaurant, so we didn't have to yell at each other. he didn't try to sell us over and eat was very delicious! we had the mezze platter for 2 (it is a lot of eating) hummus, chopped farro salat and saganaki. and the sticky toffee pudding! everything was delicious.

Thanksgiving was RUINED by the awful service, overcooked and yet cold food. Truly awful.

Ambience was lovely. Food has changed and not for the better. Staff needs some retraining. Not going back unless I hear the restaurant has gone back to original recipes and staff more attentive and knowlegable.

On OpenTable I was allowed to reserve a time before the restaurant even opened. This should not be.

I have to say, after spending a day in the sun at the beach, for the restaurant 's policy to be NOT TO PROVIDE a complimentary glass of water, but rather to only allow you to BUY a bottle for $12, is crazy. Dinner for 2 was over $200! Drinks were $18/each. Its one thing to offer bottled water for sale, and even encourage diners to purchase sparkling or flat . Its another when I ask for tap water for them to refuse to bring it, and to respond by forcing a purchase. I don 't mind the expensive nature of the restaurant, only the refusal to provide a free glass of tap water. Its a beach resort! Its their way or the highway. I suggest a car. Plenty of other great restaurants in Nassau (and at the Bahamar resort) where you won 't be bullied into an extra purchase.
