Uncle Bud's Catfish Shack

I'm here for a conference nearby and when I try to eat in a new area in local places instead of chains. I read some reviews and this place sounded like some of the restaurants I know in NC and LA. I was greeted with a number of bright smiles by the staff when I came in. Almost as soon as I sat, Monica came by and put the fixes on the table. I ordered the sweet tea (which was just about perfect, some places really lace it with the sugar, Uncle Bud did it perfectly). The hush puppies looked a little different from what I was used to, but they tasted great. The beans were also excellent. The claws and the cucumbers were solid, but I didn't eat the raw onion. Okay, here's the enlightenment. I know they have a catfish for a logo, they talk about catfish on their website, the catfish is iconic here. I took a chance and ordered the Gator. Man, I'm happy. I have to say this was a good gator I had outside Louisiana. If you've never tried gator, you can't go wrong here. You have actually set a very high bar. I also have the fried Okra, it was decent. Unfortunately, I was filled (how loose the belt full) because I would like to have tried one of the desserts. I wish I'd live closer, I'd definitely be a normal one.

Get the Gator! So dang good! The catfish fillets are also very delicious. The fried Okra is a fabulous side, although a little more seasonal could use. You don't go to Uncle buds for health food, go to pig.

I fought with a family with high expectations for Uncle Bud tonight, as I had heard they were serving the best catfish in Nashville. Well, Uncle Buds, you've exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic! Would recommend thank you for the fabulous meal.

We came to this place and thought it was bar b que place. It was always better. Amazing food. Our server Sherrell was so entertaining and creepy.. She made the dinning experience there so much fun and staff was also amazing.. This attitude I like to see and you just won two tribe members. It's just Sherrell's section. Lmao

When I go to Nashville my favorite place to eat of all time is Uncle Buds! The food is supreme and so is the service and the price is right. Uncle Buds can't be beat . And they have the best tea ever to go by the gallon
