Quite basic menu and design. The waiters aren't attentive, I asked for a cocktail without ice as was having a sore throat, ended up getting a chilled drink.
Metro cafe is fast becoming an attraction as a safe, quiet place to sit and dine. The main attraction for me is that it has no age discrimination as all age groups are warmly welcomed to this unique setting. The staff are all very helpful and polite while the managing director is always on hand to give a personal service to every visitor.
Poorly trained staff. Zero regards for customers. Business out to extort customers. There are so many other options for fine, affordable restaurants with excellent services in Abuja. I strongly do not recommend Metrocafe. The place is a shadow of it’s old self.
My colleague and I made a reservation for a group of 15 scheduled for 3 pm the next day, Saturday, 25th June 2022. We discussed with a young man introduced as the Manager and agreed on an order list for food and drinks. We deposited 50% immediately to secure the reservation. The next day, at about 1:19 pm on 25th June 2022, less than two hours before our lunch, a lady called and introduced herself as a representative of Metro Cafe Wuse 2 and mentioned she was calling concerning a reservation made the previous day. Without any apologies, she summarily said that the cost of the food and drinks we ordered had been reviewed upwards due to a review of the restaurant's menu that morning. After several altercations expressing our displeasure, she mentioned she had initially been sanctioned for putting the first call through and added we would not be attended to if we failed to agree to the upward price review. On visiting the restaurant, we spoke with a man who introduced himself as the Manager. He was rude and very unprofessional. By 3 pm, the restaurant refused to serve our table despite our insistence to be served based on the reservation. We had to go and look for another restaurant for our meeting late in the evening. We were traumatized and some of our colleagues could not join us because of the late start of the event. It was my worst experience ever.
