Bidrage med feedbackThis place is a very short walk from the station and seemed like the ideal place to grab a bite between trains. When I ordered a meal, the woman serving asked me the time. I looked at my watch and told her, but she clarified she meant the time of my next train. I told her I had hours to spare, but she wasn 't satisfied until I told her the exact time of my train. Then the chef joined in; she wasn 't satisfied that the time I gave was correct. The grilling didn 't end until I actually got out my train ticket as proof! I was confused, especially with the language barrier, but they explained that they just wanted to make sure I had enough time to enjoy my meal. I tried to explain that I was a bit freaked out by all the questions. Normally when I order food, I get questions like Chips or mash with that? , not an interrogation on my journey planning. The actual food is worth the fuss. I had the goats ' cheese salad and it was delicious. Le Loft is probably the nicest setting you will find within suitcase-lugging distance of the train station. There is an outdoor area if you want to enjoy the southern French sunshine and indoor seating if you need a bit of shade. (My choice of an indoor seat prompted more concerned questions, as if it wasn 't already obvious that they had no faith in my decision-making ability. I think the people working here have probably had to deal with a lot of customers ordering food with too little time to spare. Perhaps eventually they will come to terms with the fact that this is beyond their control. But while we wait for them to internalise the Serenity Prayer, anyone who really is in a rush should order off the snack menu.
This restaurant is situated just outside the train station, and a few paces from the bus station. We needed a quick snack before catching the bus, and took 3 different baguettes. Prices are average, and so were the baguettes. Menu is quite varied though.
Le Loft is directly opposite the station in Narbonne and a very pleasant restaurant for either lunch or dinner. The service here is excellent and the menu choice varied and good quality. The salad entree which is help yourself was one of the freshest we have tasted. Our lunch menu was around €14 and the house wine was of good quality. It is possible to eat outside but this may be a little noisy. An ideal situation for travellers and definately one to which we would be happy to re-visit.
