The Oyaki was a little bun with vegetables or seaweed inside, and it’s a local specialty. I loved it! They also served us their house-made tofu, with no seasoning, so we could appreciate the character and flavor of the tofu. On the lunch set for the day, one of the items was called “Unwinding Egg”. When ordering I tried to make it clear that I’m vegan and didn’t want egg, and there was no egg in the set I was served.

I was looking for Kururu, but it was closed. This cafe is only a few meters down the alley from there, after you turn right coming from the station. There is no English menu outside but they do have one inside. It is listed on some maps as a non-profit organization, because that’s how it’s run, at least from what I could gather from their English menu. The lunch set is delicious, vegan, and comes with local delicacies. The setting and atmosphere inside are wonderful it is in an old traditional house. There’s a sign at the door that says children under 6 are not allowed. Careful not to smash anything if carrying a big backpack.
There are always fish stocks in their lunch set (soup/egg roll). Don't misunderstand. Ladies there are not speak English very well so “nó míto” (aka no meat) is not enough. Only suitable for vegetarians is the set with tea
You can not eat vegan meal, they say it from the entrance (pictures check)
