The Boathouse - Naples

We went for my Birthday, first time there. Planned on going to tin city to be on the water, but tried something different. Service is poor, forced smile from the waitress, Happy hour only at the bar, burgers are $12 plus and overcooked and out of tomato, If you do not make the Happy hour it appeared a bottle of domestic beer was $8. We will not be back to the boathouse. Also, when we arrived at 3:35 we were asked if we had a reservation, many tables were available, then asked if we could leave by 5:00 to open the table. (which could be done, but our food order was not taken until 4:10. Limited menu, poor sandwich. I felt bad for my brothers as they wanted to take me out for my 54th Birthday to someplace nice. Next time play it safe with Bonefish Grill.

Had an early Monday dinner with my wife and 3 young boys (range 9 months to 7 years). Water view Atmosphere was very nice, but not sooo nice that a young family would feel uncomfortable. Our waiter was friendly, prompt, and adapted well to our family needs. We appreciated that he brought our kids food out before our meals. This allowed us to get them going and not have our meals setting there getting cold. Our food was very tasty and hot! Would have enjoyed a bit more main dish food and a little less dinner salad (it was large). I especially liked that we never had to ask for a refill; it was always taken care of before needing to ask. When combining the atmosphere, wait staff, and food this was a great experience. We 're here for the season and will definitely return.

We loved the cuisine and being on the bay, but we had a problem with the birds in and out of the place. This must be a board of health problem of some kind. You should really try to keep those dirty birds out of the restaurant and off of the glasses and silverware outside. Not sure if we will be back. Too bad.

Don't miss a wonderful dining experience. Best Lobster Roll Salad south of Cape Cod! Suggest a late lunch (2 for 1 drinks after 3pm), table by the window. ENJOY the FOOD and the view of Naples Bay with frequent dolphin sightings!!

The server seemed so pleasant at first, but when we pointed out a sizeable error on the bill at the end of what was a rather average meal in a lovely location, he became rude and defensive and was unwilling to resolve the problem at all. It was embarrassing and made us leave with such a negative impression on that our last night in Naples.
