Creperie Aux Delices Bretons - Nantes

A cut above many creperie. Many more gourmet combinations as well as traditional recipes. Fast and friendly service. I'm not now adding more characters just to satisfy the annoying minimum limit!

A cosy (7-9 tables), inviting Creperie next to the Nantes cathedral. The gallettes and crepes were the perfect antidote for a dismal evening after a day of traveling. Not surprisingly, the fish & seafood gallettes are where the chef really shines. The chef is quite amiable too, and happy to strike up conversation if he is not too busy. Turned a dreary evening on its head.

3 of us went for lunch this month (2010/03) and could sit right away in this small but charming place. It is at walking distance from the train station (sncf/tgv) . They have both Galettes as well as crepes (sweet) a la carte, from traditional to exotic. It seems to be a small family business like before. Price were very reasonable and the dish perfect to our taste while reminding us of our grand-parents (locals) cooking style. Prompt and courteous service with less than 10 minutes wait, even if the waitress apologies for the wait being longer than usual . Beverage is also traditional : local Cider served in a small bowl, "bole'e" . No one rushed us outside because we paid so we were able to wait for the rain to stop. minus: neighborhood is not the most charming like the oldest part of the city but is still very safe.
