Serious Coffee - Nanaimo

Being from Melbourne, Australia, I'm spoilt for choice when it comes to drinking excellent coffee. On travels in Nth America, it's very hard to find coffee that satisfies. Thank god for Serious Coffee in Nanaimo. After being very underwhelmed at another coffee shop nearby, I was surprised when I ordered my Espresso Macchiato here and they knew what I was asking for. Deliciously strong and a great taste, perfectly made macchiato that had me coming back the next day for another. Just a pity I didn't come here on my first day.

As part of the Nanaimo bar trail, we tried 5 different places and though our opinions varied as a family...this one was my absolute favourite...so delicious. Friendly staff and nice tea.

Cool spot and cafe. I never ate nanaimo bar but was told it was amazing. Matcha Latte is ok but very low grade matcha powder from someone that drinks it all the time. But still better than no matcha. Great friendly service.

Atmosphere and location are great, the staff was also wonderful aside from whom I'm assuming to be the manager as she was dressed in business attire rather than the all black and apron. She barked orders at the girls in a demeaning way and after she went to the back the girls complained with each other how she has been acting all week. I felt sorry for the young girls working as they truly were doing a good job. I will not support a business with a manager that treats their staff this poorly.

Service need work I asked for a single shot and got a double. When you pay for a premium you'd hope to get it right.
