This has been my favorite restaurant since I was a kid. You have to try the lunch buffet.
The beef fajitas are the best plate on the menu, rice sometimes dry, chips and salsa are pretty good_My girls love their queso
It was our first night in Nanaimo and we were hungry. Finding a resto to accommodate 10 people is not easy. Figo's gave us a quick response and we headed out in that direction, passing the Nanaimo Casino, which we patronized later. It was not full and the reserved table was perfect. I inquired about the dish that the lady in the next table ordered. I ordered the same, linguini tuitti mare. It was just perfect in taste, amount of seafood and pasta, and satisfying. I think our group had 4 orders of same dish -- a fair $19 CDN.The chef/owner, Aldo Acaia, has roots in Costenza, Italy. I complimented him on the dish I ordered.
We did not have reservations and were told it would be an hour wait as there were 13 tickets ahead of us. We decided to be seated and enjoy a drink while we waited. I don't think we waited a full hour.Every dish is made to order so, be patient and enjoy your visit. It is a fairly small menu; we had 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, all were delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the size and quality. We would eat here again.Reservations are a very good idea.Small venue but, not crowded. Wouldn't be good for large groups.Belini is traditional Italian, not American slushy style.
