The Old Ambo Cafe - Nambour

My mother and I called in for breakfast and both loved this cafe. She had the Scrambled Eggs with Asparagus and I had the Avocado on Turkish with the addition of a poached egg. Service was fast and the food was delicious. Prices were great. Can't say cheap because that implies something is substandard but they were inexpensive. Loved the old tables and chairs and we spent the first 10 minutes deciding which was our favourite. Great coffee. The frontage is unassuming so you need to look for it if you're in a car but its worth the effort. Loved this cafe and would happily return again.

My wife and I visited this café today and we were impressed by the friendly service, the quality and value of the food and the quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Lunch was superb, but the blueberry muffins are to die for. Graham and Gwen Marsh, Burpengary East, Qld.

Having read about it on T/A, we called in for a $5 muffin and coffee, but couldn’t see it mentioned anywhere within the cafe. Fortunately, we hadn’t had breakfast and the food on display looked delicious (and the small blackboard menu offered some tempting items) so we decided to stay. Lucky us … The dishes were innovative, beautifully prepared and presented, and very tasty … and the four of us agreed it was the best breakfast (and probably the cheapest) of our entire holiday.It’s a very small place, with a small staff, so we waited a few minutes longer than would be normal in most breakfast cafes … but other than the short wait, the service was good, and the food was definitely worth the wait ... and the look on the face of our “self-styled food critic” was something to behold as he drooled over his “big breakfast” ... fantastic!Do yourself a favour and call in for an all-day breakfast or a snack with coffee at any time.PS. The $5 muffin and coffee is available and is promoted on the sandwich board outside the cafe.

We have had several meetings at this restaurant and their chai tea with almond milk is truly addictive. I think the person who prepares it does so with care and love. It is the best!

The coffee is excellent and the food is consistently delicious with an ever-changing menu. They offer a delicious variety of cakes and slices for a delightful morning tea.
