Walls Of Kilgowan - Naas

My husband and I visited Ireland in 2019 and were pleasantly surprised by the burgers and coffee at Walls of Kilgowan. After driving from Dublin to Waterford and feeling quite hungry, we stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We ordered a burger and coffee each, and were blown away by how delicious it was. Coming from the USA where fast food and processed foods are the norm, we didn't expect the burgers in Ireland to taste so good. The rustic atmosphere of Walls of Kilgowan, along with the friendly staff and expertly crafted food, made for a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the southeastern corner of the country.

The staff at this restaurant is extremely friendly. The food was delicious, and they even had a carvery option if we wanted to try something new. We ordered coffee and tried to resist the temptation of having cake with it, which was difficult. The waitress was very kind and instead gave us biscuits as a gesture. I have had dinner here before and will definitely come back again. The cleanliness of the restaurant is excellent, and there is plenty of parking space available. It is also conveniently located not far from here.

Staff were very friendly when my family and I were there but when we arrived just after it felt like the food was finishing up and selection wasn't great. I ordered roast beef without gravy and when it arrived at the table I pointed...this put to the waitress who apologised and said she would change it. To my shock and disappointment they had rinsed it under the tap to wash the gravy off and put it back on the plate!!!!! They didn't even really try to disguise the fact that they had done it as water was on the plate and inbetween the slices and you could taste it. I waited to see if we would be asked if our food was okay but they never asked as they obviously knew there would be an issue. I did not make an issue as I was out with my family for lunch but brought the beef home for our dogs!

I gave this pub a chance twice in a year but i don't think i will be going back as the food doesn't exceed my expectation. Though, hospitality of staff is great. I had chicken wrapped with bacon the other day, it was so dry.

Lovely bar and eating area. food was really good and staff were very helpful and friendly. Will definitely be stopping again. Definitely recommend
