Restaurant La Grotte - Murren

Cozy restaurant with great veal, steak and apple fritters.

Classic Swiss food at reasonable prices--by Swiss mountain standards anyway. Our meal was good but not outstanding. Staff is friendly and speaks English. The local beer is a delicious lager. Wine list seems good. We chose it because Rick Steves recommends it. Since we only spent 1 night in Murren I don't have a comparison to the other options.

The service was superb and the food was delicious. Especially given that the price was only a little more than we paid at these places.

Excellent dinner and very romantic. Atmosphere was cozy and the service was delightful. The lamb was cooked medium and was perfect. The side dishes are a la carte but can easily be shared. The risotto was absolutely delicious. Best onion soup and the tomato soup was also flavorful. Enjoy!
