Bidrage med feedbackLet's discuss the food and drinks. The Filter Coffee here is one of the best I have ever had. It is a must-try, especially on a rough day. The service was excellent, with all staff working hard to provide a great dining experience. I highly commend the service staff and kitchen staff. I tried the Ghee milagapodi appetizer, which was completely new to me and I absolutely loved it. The Gughan supreme thali, served in a banana leaf, offered a variety of authentic South Indian dishes. My overall experience was fantastic and I will definitely be returning to this place soon.
GHUGAN is located in – MARINE LINES, MUMBAI. It is a South Indian Theme restaurant that is a treat for all lovers of the South Kitchen! The interiors are fabulous as they replicate authentic southern feelings. Beginning from the entrance, the typical wooden high doors with golden buttons then the wooden brown chairs to the temple bells and wall art painted man faces, all about the decor was spirit boggling. Yes, coming to dinner was typical South Indian cuisine with many dishes on their menu. We had so many choices, but we went for the famous ones. We ordered: •RASAM VADAI, It was hot orange Rasam with small pocket size Medu Vadas. The Medu Vadas soaked the rasam and really composed. Rasam was tasteful and tasteful. •GHEE MILAGAPODI IDLI Rice steam was idyllic in ghee and spices. It had the southern ingredients that could not be found at least in Bombay. The Idli was soft and rich is spices. •GHEE MILAGAPODI ONION DOSAI It was Crispy Dosa prepared with onion and spices that fill in the inside. I never had such an amazing dosa as it was her speciality, she held her name with this court. •ONION UTHAPPA Dick dosa basically means uthappa, so that was a giant. Onion nuthappa was perfectly cooked and tasteful. It was crispy, but soft and tasted amazingly with hot Sambhar. •GUGHAN SUPREME THALI It was a Bahubali thali it seemed! They served this amazing food on a banana leaf with all their love. There were so many bowls of food that I looked almost full on them. We had Mix Veg bhaji, Garlic bhaji, Rasam, Sambhar, Chutney, Palak Dal, Dal, Raita, Curd, Buttermilk, Boiled Rice, Veg biryani, Papad, Paratha, Uthappa, Pickle. It was really tiresome to eat everything, but nevertheless it was so delicious. Everything tasted so authentic. •BUTTERMILCH They served it before the food came as a refresher and it was an amazing refreshment. creamy and cool, sprinkled with coriander and chili. •FILTER KAAPI We ordered to try on their special coffee they call KAAPI. I loved it when it was strong and I could literally smell the coffee beans that is a sign of originality. • GOOD SOOJI KA HALWA Yes, it was my dessert and it was so delicious. It was made in pure ghee with so much love. It was a perfect end to the southern food journey! Staff and service is well versed with the menu and smooth with their work. Overall Amazing place to go and hop on South Indian food. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it will meet you with the best. Thank you for the best South Indian food.
This place is one of the best place to serve authentic South Indian cuisine. The taste of the food is undoubtedly exceptionally good and overall I enjoyed the food. The place is within walking distance from the Marine Drive Station. The place as a beautiful typical village house setup. We had Ghee Milagapodi Idli First of Idlis are so soft, I never had an Idli these good and Milagapodi spices make this dish an absolutely amazing taste experience. Chilli Garlic Cheese Dosa: The Dosa was also amazing. Crispy on edges and soft in the middle with liter of cheese. It was delicious. Colonel Thali: This Thali was BIG. The diversity was amazing. It's a must. Also this Thali cannot be divided, it is only to eat by one person. In the end we had Filter Kaapi. The authentic filter Kaapi was one of the best coffee I ever had. I loved this place very much and I will visit here again.
The ambience is simple but attractively well decorated with South Indian artifacts. The place is very well known and is usually very crowded on weekends The menu is simple, but attractive service was good We ordered the following ghee Peper Pangal the taste of the ghee was good, with the spicy Peper Pangal served with 3chutneys and Sambarugh was all amazing Onion tomato uthapa the Ithapa was tasty and the torns where pieces chopped from onions and tomatoes it was amazingly **** Recommended Lassi it felt like a Lassi in every Punjabi restaurant In Desserts we had payrasam and sheera both where amazing a perfect dessert to finish a meal Overall experience was good
The food at this restaurant was fantastic! They use pure ghee in all their dishes, and the dosa was amazing. However, the masala could have been better. The onion tomato uttappam was the highlight - soft and delicious. The idlis were also soft and the masala was superb. The chutneys and sambhar they serve were the best part of the meal. They offer an authentic South Indian dining experience. I highly recommend trying the pineapple sheera for dessert, it's delicious! The rasam vada was also good, served with medu vada and rasam. We also enjoyed the lassi as a beverage option.
