Bidrage med feedbackNot flawless, but well done. We had the six-course with the pairings. Our last course was Duck Breast, served medium rare. Duck Breast is simple to lean for that to work. The proteins in the meat must be broken down by slow roasting. It was dry and VERY chewy. This was the first time, out of dozens of courses at starred restaurants that I was unable to finish a course. In fairness, my wife did finish her's, but nonetheless agreed with my assessment. I give it a little gimmie, because it is way out in the country, only seats 20, and is only open three nights a week. By the way, if you go to a starred restaurant, you should always get the pairings, very fun.
A very small restaurant, part of Schlosshotel Hugenpoet, surprised us with a very calm nice atmosphere and really amazing food. Portions were pretty generous and the taste of the dishes very unique. The price of food and vine was also very reasonable for this kind of place. We definitely recommend it to anybody who likes to enjoy great food and an intimate atmosphere.
We stayed at the Hugenpoet Hotel for the weekend. The Laurushaus is the logical choice for a great meal. Within walking distance from the Castle (2 minutes). Upon entry we were welcomed by the Staff (2 ladies). Inside are not too many tables which makes it feel like a private dining room. Once the other guests came in, it felt like an oasis of silence. A pleasant mumbling background noise was filling the dining room. We had a 5 course menu plus wines. Glad to see on the menu, the majority was German wines. Goes great with the food. A big treat together with the amuses and bread.
The place is very beautiful. the restaurant has unfortunately closed due to corona, therefore unfortunately no rating. but let's go if we can come back.
We were there when the snow had fallen quite fresh, we drove to take photos, you lived in the middle and you can always walk by. Ah and you can order food, even for the small wallet.
