Delicious fried foods with a unique twist. Catfish, grouper, chicken, potatoes, steak, sandwiches. Owners are very kind and make a mean meal.

Drove from Blowing Rock to sample their country cuisine on recommendation of one of the locals. First time, went through the drive-thru and had some wonderful fried chicken....perfectly crisp and nicely seasoned....the fried okra and fried apples were awesome! Light and crisp and hot! A week later we returned for a 'sit-down ' meal for the Friday night fish specials. We were afraid it would be crowded but there was only one other party inside when we arrived....quite a welcome surprise after living in a tourist town where waiting to be seated is nearly always inevitable on any given week-end. The dining room was bright and clean and the staff were friendly and ready to offer their personal recommendation on what fish to order. I had the catfish and Gary had the whitefish. It took about 10 minutes for our perfectly seasoned, lightly battered and HOT from the fryer to arrive. There were 3 large pieces of catfish accompanied by some of the best slaw and hush puppies I have ever had! I opted for the fried apples again but added on a side of their sweet potato casserole....yummy and chock full of pecans! We really wanted to sample the apricot ice-cream but were 'bout to pop ' and had to forego dessert....another time for sure. *side note: Because of the previous comment of a disgruntled former customer who complained that the restaurant did not serve honey and butter and was told to leave when he showed up one day with his own butter and honey and a bad attitude.....I bravely asked for honey. The waitress smiled and said, Certainly! ....and headed back to the kitchen to fetch me some! So, rest assured, if it 's butter and honey you want, it 's butter and honey you will get....as long as you bring along a good attitude! I hear the steaks they serve are out of this world too! Can 't wait to go back!
