Bidrage med feedbackThis is a charming restaurant in downtown Arlington Heights that promises both delicious food and a rather romantic ambiance and is well worth the visit! I have Celiac disease and am Gluten Free they had gluten free penne pasta available to sub in for any of their pasta dishes.
Where should I start? First of all there were just another table reserved by clients which were about to leave, yet they set our RESERVED table for two with just one towel, two forks and one knife. Then I kindly asked for a plain salad, which was on the online menu but not on the one they gave us. The waiter said it’d be no problem for sure; I thanked him and then also ordered asparagus prosciutto. Asparagus came with a thin and almost invisible slice of prosciutto rolled at the edge of them and no salad was on the way. I asked again and he said he didn’t write in down. Handed me the menu again and, as I did asked 10 minutes earlier, I ordered a plain salad with no toppings. Instead, it came with walnuts, dried raspberries (I suppose) and fontina. As far as I managed to put it out from the salad it was ok. After that, pizzas were served: I ordered a margherita without basil and a “Manzo Italiano” pizza for my husband, both expressly not sliced, well done. Mine (margherita) came sliced, not well cooked, with “mozzarella” chunks here and there and oregano onto the tomato sauce which was not even listed on the menu ingredients. My husband’s one, so spicy (not specified on the menu as well) he couldn’t taste anything at all. I told them that mine was not what I ordered mentioning I didn’t want it sliced and also I’d like it with way more mozzarella on top and they (kindly) made it again.. it arrived same as the one they served before, just not sliced. So disappointed it makes me sad. As an italian myself, ingredients are high quality as the pizza dough, which was honestly pretty amazing, but everything else made it one of the worst experiences so far.
