Bidrage med feedbackThis dining experience reminded me of the old days at the cantina before new owners came in and the quality declined. The current owners have put in effort to restore the previous charm, which is nice to see. We were pleased to see a different server than the female co-owner who used to constantly nag us to place an order. The whole "you can get your own water over there" attitude seems to be a thing of the past, which is a positive change.
We frequent this restaurant often. The location is personal and very nice, with friendly staff who even remember our usual coffee orders. The venue is clean, tidy, relaxing, and stylish, and conveniently located near the Astor Theatre with free parking. The food is of high quality and fresh, though I wish there were more gluten-free options available. I wanted to try their famous gnocchi, but unfortunately it is not gluten-free. The staff does try to accommodate our dietary needs. The coffee and juice are both delicious and served with a smile. I would definitely recommend this place. I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The food at this restaurant was delicious, well presented, and generously portioned. I went for lunch and was so impressed that I came back for dinner the next day. For lunch, we tried the liver parfait, sausage, and pork cheek gnocchi. For dinner, we had the parfait again, as well as four cheese gnocchi and a special pork dish. For dessert, we enjoyed their Panna Cotta and tiramisu. The parfait was served with caramelized apples and sliced toast, and had a beautiful thick and creamy consistency with fantastic flavor. It was the best parfait my partner and I have ever had. Each dish was drizzled with olive oil and nicely charred on the grill. The gnocchi dishes were also delicious.
I don't understand why they can't give them a big flat white in a cup like all others! I had a young man who left himself on the afternoon. I had really nice lunch, but coffee came in a paper cup and when I raised this with the waitress, she just rolled her eyes off. wasteful use of resources and unnecessary. surprising waitress. it's a shame how the discarded was the best I had in the old, but the service left the place. I will not be back in a hurry.
A quaint little spot near the Walcott St lights. Fast and friendly service We ordered a few share plates as well as the famous gnocchi. The duck liver pate with onion jam was simply divine. Deep-fried polenta bites also very delicious, and the bowl of chorizo was tasty. Would have been nice to get some balsamic with the ciabatta plate but we only got oil which I found a bit odd. The gnocchi looked promising but missed the mark for me, being the other side of soft and making for a mushy dish. There was also a lack of walnuts which would have provided much needed texture and crunch. Dessert was the deep-fried churros with choc sauce (got the tick from my partner) and the lemon ricotta...read more
