Bidrage med feedbackI typically steer clear of buffets, but this one was amazing! It coincidentally happened to be the day after I arrived in the country for vacation, so the timing was perfect. There was a wide variety of desserts and a great selection of dishes to choose from. I even had a chance to speak with one of the managers who mentioned they also offer a daily high tea. If you give them notice in advance, they can provide vegan options for you. [Review updated on 2020-03-09]
We were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of dishes offered at this monthly buffet and we wish we could be in Colombo for another Poya Day! There were at least 45 delicious hot dishes, in addition to a large salad station featuring cuisine from around the world including Sri Lankan, Indian, Pakistani, Thai, Lebanese, Italian, German, and more. The desserts were beautifully presented and included cakes, brownies, jelly, agar-style puddings, and fresh fruit. The buffet cost 2,300 rupees per person (excluding drinks, table water, and fruit juice shots) and also included access to the hotel's pool, which is typically priced at 1,000 rupees for a day visitor. If you happen to be in Colombo during a full moon, this buffet is a must-try. It is recommended to call ahead as it can get very busy. Please note that the restaurant where the buffet is served is not typically vegan, however, they do offer a separate vegan menu.
I based my Sri Lanka travel plans around this buffet, and it was definitely worth it! There was a wide variety of options to choose from, with the salad and dessert bar standing out as particularly impressive. The hot food was also delicious! I hope to have the opportunity to visit again in the future.
A delightful way to spend a Poya day. The staff and chefs allow you to thoroughly enjoy sumptuous choices for an afternoon. The pool and beach are part of the package (but do take care to swim before eating)! Take a tour around the lovely old hotel too (be sure to ask about the museum and "love tunnel). I am a happy regular!
Very good service and especially their friendly behavior. I love you srilanka. I will never love you
