The Mount Gambier Hotel

We went to a jubilee meal while I was away with the work, we couldn't mistake the meal at all, the chef cooked me a steak menu that wasn't included on the menu, and he absolutely nailed it! my wife had the cancer thermoidor and. to be faultless. I'll make it my dinner when I'm in town.

I have been a customer of this hotel for over 50 years. I haven’t been here for about 2 years. I am surprised at the cost of the meals compared to other hotels in Mount Gambier. There were no small servings for older people...that do not need a large meal. They used to have a lunch time specials menu. Service was fine. Can’t see myself going back on my own accord when there are many great restaurants in the vicinity.

I have eaten breakfast here twice and both times it was delicious, with generous serving sizes. Staff were excellent and waiting times were minimal.

Dropped in on our first evening in Mt Gambier for dinner. I ordered a fancy chicken dish as I was trying to be somewhat healthy and it was pretty average given the price. Very small portion and came with a couple of vegetable patties absolutely...swimming in oil. I had to drain off each piece before eating it. On the other hand the traditional chicken parma and calamari dishes were very good. Next time I'd stick to the classics.

Beautiful old building with taste renovated. only for a few beers let in and decided to try the cheese plate. amazing worth at $29 we fought to finish it.
