Pizzeria Beppe - MORGEX

Really pleased to have been recommended to this eatery by the person we rented from in Morgex. We are en-route to the U.K. and not wanting to stay overnight in France we found an apartment a few kilometres from Monte bianco so was ideal location. Very friendly staff and service. Our waitress spoke good English and helped explain the menu. Great food! Highly recommend. Thank you Da Beppe!

Visited here with my family on the 23rd July and had a lovely evening meal. We all had various dishes ranging from the Valdostana with the lovely but stinky : Fontina cheese, Fusilli Ragu and a Diavolo pizza. As other reviewers have said the pizza is small and probably for kids, not a traditional pizza but a thick doughy base very pleasant however none the less. The vadostana steak was very good and the chips a little oily but very good again. The place was extremely busy and I would recommend booking. Other reviewers said they struggled with English but we found they spoke enough to get bit and get what you wanted. Great to see 660ml Moretti beer too. Overall a plentiful traditional rustic family and cheap eat €58 for 4 of us last night so great value.

In a word, Family! From the first time we poked our heads in through the beaded curtain at the door and felt as if were interrupting a special event – Family! And then the hostess greeting us at the door, smiling, almost apologetic because she didnt speak English (as if she should be expected to speak English on our account , but finding someone who does (while not making us feel like were imposing – the owner’s daughter – Family. And when an unannounced party of 13 is accepted, led through the main room, through the secondary dining room, laughing and familiarity all around, down concrete stairs, into a special basement overflow room with picnic style seating Family. Looking over the menu, but not understanding a word – yet confident the owners daughter understood our own celiac concerns for our daughter – Family. Family, the word that came to mind our first visit when we interrupted dinner time as strangers to this restaurant, but how we felt as we departed that restaurant that very night, and each night since. The space in between filled with the smiling faces, the owners daughter’s careful translations – my daughter, my princess, celiac disease, not once sick– and tremendous, delicious, flavorful, abundant, family style food! We revisited many nights for dinner specials, comfort food, broken conversation (Americans with no Italian language experience , after dinner shots and “chupa chups” for the kids. It was my parents 50th wedding anniversary trip with the family, a special time in our lives, and they made us feel like family. In another word, priceless.
