East Gate Barbecue - Morgan City

Stopped on Friday, and everything was great... SO much so that the three Greeks wanted to come back the next day; before they flew back to Greece. They DIDN 'T tell me until after we left... but their food wasn 't just not hot; ALL three said it was COLD... out of the refrigerator cold. They were VERY disappointed.

Had the brisket, flavor was there but could be more tender. Brisket was sliced a little unusual. Ribs and sides were good too.

Very good! the menu is varied with solid trips and portion sizes. meat was juicy and tasteful and the jalapeno bbq sauce was delicious. Plan them back and try some of the daily specialties and other options!

This restaurant was fantastic! The BBQ was top-notch! I ordered the Big Sloppy sandwich and a side of fries, and both were delicious. There were many little things that contributed to a wonderful dining experience. They offer a jalapeño and maple sauce that is out of this world. The coleslaw was also excellent. The bread for the sandwich was amazing, although I only managed to eat the bottom half. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was truly exceptional. The only downside is that the walls have absorbed years of food odors and grease. It's not dirty, but it’s clear that it hasn't been refreshed in quite a while. The smell tends to linger. I’ll definitely be back the next time I'm in the area!

The onion bun paired with a crunchy pickle and coleslaw on top of the pulled pork BBQ creates the perfect combination! Just add a little bit of sauce, and it becomes an ideal sandwich.
