Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant is situated in a beautiful old villa a bit off the main road. The tables are set around the pool in a lovely garden. Despite the fantastic food, we had to wait 1.5 hours due to a large group that had been seated before us. We were frustrated by the dishonesty of the staff who kept giving us false wait times. While one waiter apologized, the manager seemed indifferent. This lack of customer service was off-putting, especially considering one of our party was a local who works with tourists and will not be recommending the restaurant. However, once our food arrived, it was excellent.
My wife and I stayed at Sur La Mer for 5 nights in the first week of Oct 2015. We chose it carefully after going through all the TA reviews so the expectations were very high. The hotel actually exceeded all the already high expectations,...and made our vacations and stay in Goa memorable. The rooms are impeccably designed with exquisite wooden furniture. There is a huge pool in the middle of the hotel, and all the rooms are pool facing. It's all very clean and the pool is open 24 hours so you can take a swim at midnight it you feel like. The Morjim beach is just about 500 mts away, however, we preferred to go to Ashwem beach which is about 1000 mts from the hotel (about 15 mins walk . The staff is very friendly, and takes extremely good care of you. Food wise, you pretty much get anything that you crave for, and boy, what delicious food! The cook, Kumar, has been well trained by the Chef (Aneel, the owner . Don't even look at the Menu and just order whatever you are craving for and Aneel (popularly known as Raju will make sure you get it within few minutes! We are vegetarians so ordered variety of vegetarian food, and it would definitely be the best food that I have eaten in any restaurant in Goa (or possibly anywhere in the country! . On one of the evenings my wife just mentioned to Raju about her love for Gol Gappas (indian chaat ,and the next day we get delicious Gol Gappas in our room, that too complimentary! I mentioned my love for Karela (bitter gourd the day before leaving, and we get a box of Karela from Raju at the time of checkout, again complimentary! The evenings are beautiful with the owner Raju himself becoming a bartender! He is a sheer pleasure to spend time with, and is never short of engrossing stories. You can play your favorite music in the background, and enjoy your drinks in company of the owner and other guests. It almost becomes one family sharing stories and enjoying each others' company. We have been to Goa several times, and this clearly was the best Goa vacations ever. Can't wait to go there again!
Despite a lovely location and a very welcoming (drunk?!?! manager/owner the overall NYE experience was awful. The worst of my life. Soups were tasteless, grilled calamari seemed everything but fresh grilled calamari, in fact it was marinated calamari in spices, our guess to cover some...other tastes... Then we had to send back our grilled prawns 3 times because thet were raw (we are not going to eat raw seafood in goa . Grilled fish and dessert were good though. No wine selection: they brought us 3 different undrinkable white wines, and that was it. The final surprise: 20% surcharge for credit card 20 PERCENT?!?! I wonder if this is legal?
The best hotel to stay at in Goa is Sur La Mer on Morjim Beach. The staff is friendly and the restaurant serves very tasty meals. The pool is clean and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Overall, it was a wonderful and relaxing stay.
My wife and I stayed at this restaurant for three days and dined here every evening because the food was so delicious. The fish tikka was the best I have ever had. It did take some time to prepare, but good things come to those who wait!
