Attended my brothers wedding with the reception held at hot pipis.checked beforehand and made sure there was something my boys would eat.Ordered chicken tenders and chips at 6pm as did another guest. We both asked for it to be cooked asap rather than waiting for the rest.At 7pm I went and asked what was happening (other guest had been told they were cooking tea at 6.30). Was told they would be ready at 7.15.At 7.40 it arrived. Boiled to death chicken strip with 8 chips on each plate. All the children burst into tears it looked revolting. It was so dry I couldn't cut it with a steak knife.I went to the counter and said my kids aren't eating it. Was told they had nothing else. I explained it was my brothers wedding and was going to quietly pop to a shop and get them something to eat. I was firmly informed there was to be no outside food. I understand this normally and would leave but due to the special occasion I asked if we sat on the outside chairs but was again told no.So I had to leave my brothers wedding before having any food with 2 starving crying children. Thanks for souring such a wonderful day. I have not one nice thing to say about your resturant I only wish I could give you a 0.And to add insult to it. I paid $19 for each meal when I ordered that didn't get eaten and you then charged my parents when they left even when my father said it had been paid. Can't be more disappointed
Stopped in here after a walk along the beach on an early morning. Had a great breakfast served by some very friendly people. Compliments the beauty of the coastline there perfectly.
Two prawns, two very small cubes of fish, and two NZ mussels. $37 so not budget dining. Surf club has a Thai seafood curry better on price and quality. White wine was almost warm. Soda water glass bore traces of lipstick. Wife had surf and turf that was not much better. A 10mm thick steak is not a steak, it is a slice of beef. Reduction of bill was offered, but I declined do as not to compromise my complaint. Sad to this eatery's standard drop do markedly.
Look we had eaten at two of the best restaurants on the Mooloolaba strip so perhaps Hot Pipis was at a disadvantage. The Tacos were average, Pork Belly less than average with a couple of other dishes. Ok for price.
