Bidrage med feedbackGood local restaurant: fair prices, good quality food, great service and lively atmosphere. this was recommended to us by the owner of the place where we lived.
La madeline sous montreuil is a charming village with a river flowing through and beautiful hiking trails. the auberge is all that is good to eat in family-run French restaurants. the owner gave us a warm greeting and showed us a table that looked over the garden. cod au printemps was a colorful dish with a beautiful piece of cadjau and a series of breakfast vegetables including white asparagus and baby spinat, complemented by a delicate cream sauce. the simple dessert of fresh local strawberry, strawberry chefs and yogurt ice cream was a brilliant finish at the mealtime.
We had lunch here and I chose the sole that was one of the best fish dishes I ever had. the owner is a jolly dame and very helpful and the place is full of local people. Try it!
I always try to make for this restaurant when I am in the area visiting mt gardening friends. On this occasion I had my Grandchildren with me the youngest somewhat of a fussy eater but not on this occasion she tried everything although the restaurant...did make a special attempt to make sure there was some chicken available. As on many previous occasions the food the ambience ,service wine bread food were absolutely fantastic 5* if you have never eaten here make sure it is on your list you will not regret it
As we tend to visit le Touquet out of season, this restaurant is often closed when we pass by, but luckily it was open in half term week in October. The restaurant is deceptively large and we were seated round the back with a nice view...of the back garden. Food was lovely local fare. We started with pate, followed by the roast duck which was beautifully cooked firm on the outside but still pink in the middle. Highlight though has to be the crepe a la orange for dessert the best crepe I have had and I long to go back just to try that. Only thing I would say is that it is not fast food by any means. We spent a good 3 hours there, so bear this in mind if you have a ferry to catch...
