Thanjai (indian Montreal)

Since it is a new year and restaurants are still closed, we placed our order about 2 hours in advance. However, when we arrived to pick up our food, we had to wait an additional 20 minutes before it was ready. Despite giving them ample time to prepare three dishes, we were left puzzled. The curry shrimp was delicious, with perfectly sized shrimp in a slightly spicy curry sauce. On the other hand, the curry lamb was a disappointment. The small pieces of lamb were dry and tough, almost resembling goat meat. The sauce lacked the promised lemon and rust flavors. Our favorite dish was the chicken kothu, which was amazing. The staff was polite and the service was good overall. However, this was the second time our order was delayed. We look forward to dining in the restaurant once it reopens, as they specialize in dosa and idly, more suited for breakfast or lunch. When we finally dined in 2022, our experience was not great. We ordered three dishes but received them at different temperatures. The chicken curry was not hot, leaving us with two lukewarm dishes. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

My experience at this restaurant was not good. I purchased 10 parathas and they were all dry and hard. It seemed like they were old and just reheated before being delivered. I would not recommend buying from here.

We are a group of 10 people who recently visited this restaurant. We tried almost all the dishes and found most of them to be perfect, with a few exceptions. The Gobi Manchurian was too sweet, and the Veg Manchurian dosa disappointed us as it only had Gobi Manchurian and a few veggies on it. We were expecting a traditional Veg Manchurian. The Chicken dosa would be better if it was replaced with a Chicken Keema dosa, like they have at their Ottawa branch, as it would be easier to eat. Overall, the food was good and the service was fast. We appreciate their efforts.

Dosa is an Indian burrito. the chicken is very interesting, immersed in 3 different sauces, rich and heavy, very pleasant.

Tried their Idli65, Samosa chaat, South Indian filter coffee masala Chai.Talking about the restaurant it's easily accessible very close to Plamondon metro station.The restaurant itself is clean staff are polite. Their service is pretty fast too.Talking about the food their Samosa chaat filter coffee were excellent.However, Idli 65 Masala Chai were average.Price are reasonable their serving size is pretty decent.Definitely recommend going there for South Indian food.
