Sushi Yumi - Montréal

With my spouse and children and we all loved the food. The service was friendly. The atmosphere is okay, but easy to come with food.

Sushi Yumi used to be our place for good quality sushi, we loved the cook and were accommodated with our restrictions. But the place changed hands and I took my friends from the country to Sushi Yumi, not knowing about the change. We were treated awfully. The requests that we have asked for the inclusion of certain fish restrictions were considered challenging, impossible, too expensive to change. The owner said literally It is too expensive to change this product, we do not. We got chickens instead of a fish they were out of without being asked. When we mentioned that we did not want meat in our fish sushi, the owner became aggressive. The same thing happened when he asked for extra Wasabi and ginger. I never felt so mistreated in a restaurant, I as well as my friends were quite shaken after the meal and we will never go back, nor recommend this place to everyone. It's not a cheap sushi joint, it's an expensive place, and we were all quite shocked. Although the fish was fresh, the sushi combo was quite bland and the size reduced from any other time I was there. And I was there a lot. So, neatly less to say, it was a terrible experience and I was pretty embarrassed to have brought my friends to this place in their first night.

A new visit to this restaurant proved to be somewhat disappointing. Service was good, food was fresh, proportions small for the price, total taste very bland . I rated this place, the food and the value average value as he was not... bad, he falls somewhere between poor and average.

We tried to dinate in three other plants before this, but could not remain a fan because of the intense heat/humidity and not even a fan. This is an atypical little restaurant when you are used to prep sushi tracks or sushi cuisine to you. But the prices are reasonable and it is not unpleasant.

I am a frequent customer and have recommended this restaurant to many people. Tonight I placed an order and specifically asked for no seafood due to an allergy. I arrived at home to find out there was seafood in the sushi. I then returned and...was told they would have a very long wait to fix it. The owner was extremely rude and I will not be returning (and I will make sure to inform all my friends and family not to return as well)
