Le Tonkin - Montréal

Yesterday, we had a party and ordered the Combo F which included soup, imperial rolls, grilled chicken, beef, shrimp, and lettuce. The portions were generous and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Attention! There is new management at this restaurant. We have been loyal customers for a long time and were previously very satisfied, which is why we decided to return. However, our most recent visit was disappointing. We had to pay upfront, which was a red flag. The service was slow and the food was not up to par. It felt like a completely different restaurant. The meal was so bad that we couldn't even finish it and had to leave most of it uneaten. We had to send back the soup because it was served cold and the meat in my daughter's dish was tough and cold. This experience was terrible and felt like a rip-off. We were left feeling very disappointed and will not be returning. Very disappointing!!!

We visited a Wednesday night for dinner. The place is spacious, very clean and with only a small amount of this special evening. It is one to bring your own winery, which always has a big plus. It has an extensive menu with Vietnamese and other Asian specialities. We ordered Chef Special No. 2 at $44.95 for two people with a $21 surcharge for the third person in our party. In addition, because the fish selection was salmon, we replaced it with shrimp scallops. Our meal consisted of: Won ton soup (or sweet and sour) Imperial rolls Hunan dumplings with peanut sauce salt and pepper squid plate Sauteed shrimps and scallops with ginger and mixed vegetable plate steamed rice Fried banana green tea All was very good (although we had much better salt pepper Calamari elsewhere) and cheap. Service was friendly and fast.

Excellent Vietnamese food very cheap with good portions and pleasant informative staff. All the dishes we ordered were great.

This cozy family run restaurant is literally one of my fav stops. The kinda resto you miss if you 've been away for too long! Everything on the menu is to die for. When your eyes roll back with every bite then you know that your...well taken care of. The care involved in dish preparation is outstanding. Honestly the BEST wonton soup ever created and if you order the peanut-sauce dumplings you 'll have a hard time finding another resto that serves something that equals them. If I have to rate this resto from 1 to 5 I 'll give this resto 100! It 's a JUST WOW Place. A 'You Gotta Eat Here ' Experience!
