Bidrage med feedbackHad the opportunity to dine here with my wife for our anniversary and they honestly treated us like gold. The food was both delicious and creative. Service was warm and fun and you could tell everyone had a strong knowledge of the dishes. Walked out...of there happy as could be.
We have selected le fantome for a special start on a trip to montreal. when we explored places to eat, we had the impression that this restaurant has served only or above all a tasting menu that has changed. the menu is now a la carte and they...they position themselves as more of a neighboring restaurant for everyday. I could probably imagine becoming a rule when I lived close. the dining room is small, dim and cozy. service friendly and attentive. when we said that they did not offer a tasting menu, our server offered us to prepare a discovery menu. this consisted of his favorite dishes from the published menu in a progression. some of the highlights were the homemade sourdough bread and a grilled cauliflower salad. for dessert they surprised us with an additional cure after the dessert we offered - such a thoughtful gesture! my thought is that le fantome has now opened with her new sister restaurant pastel and served a daily tasting menu to swing a slightly more casual format. that is not a bad thing, but the guests should know what to expect, as this seems a change from the years before. nevertheless this was a pleasant eating in a pleasant atmosphere and we enjoyed our visit.
The shrimp cocktail at the restaurant was tasteless and the charcuterie board was overly expensive and fatty. The meats were mostly fat and the cold cuts were excessively salty. This place needs some serious adjustments in order to survive.
It was a quiet night and only two tables were occupied, which did not create a great atmosphere. the service was very attentive and knowledgeable. However, eating was not remarkable: ok arancini balls, lamb could have been more taste, nothing really lifted out. will not go back.
We celebrated our high season on May 2. very well selected dishes, attentive staff and a local/seasonal changing day menu! if they visit their visit will be very happy that they will!
