Bidrage med feedbackHaving moved away from Montreal, I still fondly remember this restaurant for its delicious chicken taquitos! Despite its humble appearance, this place offers authentic and tasty Mexican cuisine. It is also very affordable, which is why I used to eat there at least once a week when I lived nearby. When I visit Montreal next year, this will be the first place I go to!
I enjoy dining at this restaurant because the food tastes almost authentic, as close to the real thing as you can get in Montreal. The decor is reminiscent of Mexico, creating an immersive experience that makes you feel like you're in a little corner of Mexico. The taco sauces are delicious and their combo meals are reasonably priced. It's also easily accessible for those without a car.
I was pleasantly surprised by La Taqueria, a much-needed Mexican option in the area. The restaurant is located in what appears to be a closed down KFC, but once inside, it feels like a vibrant atrium filled with Mexican charm. The tacos were delicious and homemade, showcasing authentic Mexican flavors like Al Pastor. The service at the counter was friendly and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable. I always appreciate great value like this, so I would definitely give it a 5-star rating. As a bonus, don't miss the amusing poster inside titled "How to Eat a Taco."
Quite a bit of variety there for omnivores without intolerances. Gluten free people are also ok with the corn tortillas. But very little vegetarian/vegan options. Very tasty, quite popular!
This place seemed to have Mexican families (young and old) hanging out there which was lovely as it showed the place was part of community. We ordered between us nachos, chicken dorados (deep fried tortillas), chupacabras (beef tacos) and soup. There was a lot of food and was very cheap. Tasted really good so a good budget place to eat.
