Bidrage med feedbackMy girlfriend and I went to this great restaurant and we are very happy to have found the best Cuban restaurant in Montreal. The food is 100% Cuban, tasting every dish we ordered reminded me of my grandmother's cooking. I really liked the ropa vieja dish. They have a very good menu, seriously, I was very surprised and the prices of the dishes are not very expensive. We loved the Cuban tamale appetizer and also had some chicharrones, it was yummy! In addition, the decor and ambiance are typically Cuban. On the Friday we went, there was live music, we listened to some great Cuban songs. Unfortunately, we had to leave before the party started because we had another appointment scheduled, otherwise I would have stayed all evening there. The only negative point I found is that the restaurant is very small and we can't all dance to the good Cuban music. If you want to eat well while listening to good Cuban music, La Bodeguita de Montreal is the best place. I will definitely be back.
We discovered this restaurant by pure chance while walking on St-Laurent. One should not be influenced by the exterior appearance of the restaurant, which shows signs of fatigue, such as the half-broken door handle and the mailbox on the floor. Once inside, you enter a world of good Cuban cuisine. The restaurant is small (about 25 seats), but the menu contains the best of traditional Cuban cuisine. We were tempted by a Ropa viaja (excellent shredded beef) and the grilled pork loin, which was superb. Everything was accompanied by Cuban Congri (rice and beans expertly prepared). I also discovered the Tamal (grated corn and garlic) which was simply delicious. We washed down this delicious meal with two beers, and the total bill came to around $50, which is a great deal considering the quality of the food. The cleanliness is impeccable (even the bathrooms are very well maintained). Given the size of the restaurant, it is recommended to make a reservation if you want to try the experience. The phone number is 514-277-0021. It is worth noting that they offer catering services. We have decided to spend this Christmas in the cold, but we will be able to enjoy an all-inclusive buffet from Varadero. We will order a buffet and enjoy it at home with red wine. In the end, we will only be missing a Bucanero or a Cristal, but life is not perfect...
We have been there twice and the food is always good and tastes like Cuba. It is a very small restaurant that is poorly located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard but worth the detour.
