Bidrage med feedbackNot a place for your high profile interior event, but a good neighborhood chicken and rib joint. Flyed for lunch and ordered the combination plate, and found it very acceptable. Chicken was moist, ribs fall from bone, sauces were spicy as desired, frits... were a little soft, but that;s today's style. Service was quite fast, 15 minutes from order to service, only 2 other couples in place, and food was cooked to order, no reheating IMHO. Come back for fast and dinner meals, one of the better!
This restaurant has a unique lighting combination of being both illuminated and dark. I ordered the chicken quarter and ribs combo with fries, salad, and a drink. The price was reasonable. Unfortunately, the chicken quarter had very little meat on it, although it was tasty. The ribs were small with not much meat on them. The fries were good. I was disappointed to learn that they do not use charcoal to grill their chicken and ribs. The hot sauce was good, but there was only a small portion given. Overall, I left feeling underwhelmed by this restaurant. There are much better Portuguese chicken options in Montreal.
I usually enjoy Portuguese food, but I have to admit that this was the most disappointing dining experience I have ever had. My friend and I were the only customers in the restaurant and we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. The chicken wings we ordered as appetizers were undercooked and the sardines were not drained properly. The ribs and chicken legs were dry and seemed like they had been preheated. The ribbed steak had an odd texture, almost as if it had been unfrozen right before serving. The rice tasted boiled, leading us to believe it was cooked in a microwave. The only saving grace was that the water was okay.
I am a fan of Portuguese cuisine, but I was extremely disappointed with the food at this restaurant. The chicken tasted like it had been reheated and the potatoes were overcooked with a strange smell. I barely touched my dish. Even my friends, who also tried the food, had a worse experience than I did. I don't think this restaurant will survive unless they address these major issues.
I went to FERNADOS with my friends on Sunday. They have some kind of special plates with fried potato and a salad; each of them is $9.99 plus tax and tip. I love fish and spicy taste, so I ordered Poisson Piri-Piri. Sauce was sweet...and spicy like some Asian taste. I loved it, but Poisson was small and too much tender. A signature dish of this restaurant is Chicken. It's large. I recommended you Chicken better than Poisson. One thing I don't like was potatoes were overcooked. An atmosphere is somehow casual. Some radio music was playing there. Price was very reasonable. It's nice for brunch with family or friends. If you choose here for first date with boy/girl friend, I can't promise your date going well. Anyway this place is super reasonable! It's worth going, if you live near there.
