Bidrage med feedbackAte here twice and ate well both times. Plat du jour salad nicoise, pork chop, blackcurrants with panacotta. Later the same week salad, fish with pasta followed by a coffee cake. The owner (and chef) is English. He and his waiting staff are attentive without being pushy, and help customers feel at home. Would like to have tried more on the menu, but we were pushed for time. Don't just drive past...it's worth stopping. Parking is off the road, down the side of the restaurant.
Lunch - delicious! James plays good guitar and has a soulful voice too! Great food, great welcome - excellent value! I Will be back!
We came across this small restaurant a couple of weeks ago and loved just about everything about it. James is a great host and offers high quality food with a simple yet homely welcome. We had been driving around on a monday night (everything is shut on mondays!!!) and were resigning ourselves to a fast food dinner when we drove past the Carpe Diem on the way to Montferrier. What a delight. The food was first class and the menu choice quite outstanding. Great service and wonderful deserts too. Thanks a lot for a great evening.
My family and I had a wonderful time eating lunch at Carpe Diem. It was recommended by a family member and it was not only great food but a great experience. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to have a nice conversation in French and in English with all of us. We had the local Bio (organic in US) Trout dish and it was delicious. Great environment and visit. We recommend this place for any visit. The picture is with my Fiancé and the owner James.
Atmosphere and service were lovely, food was below par compared to others we tried in the area. Samosas were served in a bed of white lettuce and grease, for instance. Goat cheese salad was not as good as other places. Trout however, was simple but delicious, raised right next door. We could have hit it on an off night because our hotel recommended it.
