El Castor - Monterrey

This is a locally family-oriented place where they have the best steak and secondary dishes at very reasonable prices. The taste is great and the frozen lemonade is the best! Be aware that is a fairly small place and it will be very busy at weekends, so make sure you are there at noon if you do not want to wait for a table.

If you want to eat like a local, you have to go to eat here, reasonable prices, and the meat is wonderful.

This place is a must, the food is great. Finger licking great. Meat is juicy and tortillas are made on cue. Kudos to the chef. Perfect ambiance. The owners are very friendly and make you feel like family. Great for friend or family reunions. Without a doubt I'm going back.

This place is a Monterrey institution and is one of the best places to try regional "regio" (from Monterrey) cuisine. Prices here are much more reasonable than most of their infamous competitors, and the service here is TOP NOTCH! We had an amazing family dinner here the last time we came (May 2015) and plan on doing so again when we return. Definitely try the carne mixta and the carne seca! Staff was kind enough to call us a taxi at the end of the night and was extremely helpful. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Monterrey!
