Mattarello Bakery Café - Montclair

The apricot croissant is my favorite pastry in town, with the chocolate croissant not far behind.They have a wide variety of cakes, pastries, pies and coffees. It is my go to for the holidays.The smell of fresh baked goods when I walk into this Italian bakery is one of the most pleasant sensations in my memory bank.

We got 2 cakes from Mattarello Bakery for our daughter’s 6th birthday, a strawberry shortcake and the Ferraro roche’ chocolate cake. Both cakes were fresh so tasty. Thank you Eva and team for helping with the delicious birthday desserts highly

Imagine it’s your 30th birthday and your birthday cake is ruined by this bakery. They said they were able to recreate a cake similar to my reference pictures. When I saw the cake that I received I wanted to cry so badly. Never in my 30 years of life have I ever seen a cake so horrible! As for the taste taste I ordered strawberry shortcake and it taste like it was months old it was disgusting and gross. I had to dump the entire cake in the trash immediately. Ruined my birthday and I’m so disappointed by this bakery. This bakery is trash!!!! Do not order custom cakes from them unless you want to be disappointed. I wish I could give zero star!

Mattarello is my go-to place for coffee and all things pastry! They have the best espresso in town, and I would above all others recommend the Sfogliatella and the apricot Croissant! Steps from the train station, it is a great place to stop before or after the commute.

Ordered online for pick up—order was ready on time and staff was excellent. Pastries and desserts were good. The lobster tail was the favorite.
