Il Gelato Della Piazzetta - MONREALE

I taste ice cre all over the world and teach courses on how to properly taste ice cream in the USA. We had excellent gelato at El Gelato Della Piazzetta today. Carmelo makes an excellent product which is very fresh and tastes fantastic. The flavor balance Is spot on , true and not too sweet. A must for anyone visiting Monreale Sicily. Unfortunately, the Gelateria closes for the season today but will reopen next spring.

We took the granita to the almond that was great

A little hidden, a few steps from the Cathedral of Monreale. It has outdoor tables in front. Granita al pistacchio is the best ever eaten in Sicily (it can compete with an ate in Acireale and one in Marzamemi). Excellent Mandarin and almond. Excellent. Bravo!
